A Glimpse Into Chaos

A glimpse into chaos...aren't our minds always a jumbled mass of contradictions, hopes, and emotions?

Abnormality is the normality at this locality...

This is what happens when you're bored on a Saturday afternoon, your roomate has a camera, and you have a desperate urge to play with Alka-Seltzer. Embarassing and incriminating pictures end up online, usually at the expense of a few laughs and good humored cracks at our mental faculties.

Some might say that this picture is stupid...and I'd have to agree with them. Some may say that it is ridiculous and that I can find better things to do with my time. Again, I'd probably have to agree with them. Some may just call me insane and laugh. Anyone who knows me knows that I would certainly vouch for that comment.

While all of the above comments may be true, is it truly that insane to have fun and let the pressures of the world leave your mind for a few precious moments? Humor is as varied as those who allow themselves to laugh, or have fun. For instance, chess may be a stimulating and calming way of allowing themselves to enjoy their time. The cool ivory and ebony figures may be as much of an outlet for humor and fun as a keg full of beer and a few drunken friends. Just because our ideas of humor and what is "fun" may differ doesn't mean that they should be subject to ridicule or distaste. Just like that picture. You may look at it with disgust. I look at it as a victory. I held that damn tablet in my mouth until it dissolved! It was pretty gross, but the picture that resulted from that escapade is priceless to my mind.

Basically, the moral of this little tirade is to just have fun in whatever way you choose to do so (unless it involves playing in traffic). Life is too short to sit in your room or dorm and let it pass you by. Cliche? Yep. It still doesn't take away from the power of the words though. Make sure you have fun, and live a little. All I know is that if you laugh your ass off at a stupid picture or a crazy memory the next day, week, month, or even year, it's enough reason to cherish it. So while you may want to sit on your ass in your room and hide away, I am out having the time of my life. Touche (add the accent, I don't know how to use that damnable function)!
